Aug 20 (Reuters) – A tropical wave southwest of the Cape Verde Islands has a 40% likelihood of evolving into a cyclone within the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Wednesday.
“Environmental conditions appear marginally favorable for additional development over the next day or so while the system moves westward at around 15 mph and a short-lived tropical depression could form,” the NHC said in its latest advisory.
