Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers is going to take some time before he decides on his future in the NFL. While speaking to reporters after the Steelers’ loss to the Houston Texans, Rodgers was asked if he was playing next season or if he would retire.
“No, I’m not going to make any emotional decisions,” Aaron Rodgers said.“Disappointed obviously. Such a fun year. A lot of adversity, but a lot of fun. Been a great year overall, my life in the last year. This is a really good part of that, coming here and being part of this team. It’s disappointing to be sitting here with the season over.”
It would not be surprising to see Rodgers return in 2026, but it would also make sense for him to call it a career. Rodgers is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, having won four MVP awards, been named to the Pro Bowl 10 times, and led the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl win in 2010. But he would love to win another title before his career ends, and the Steelers seem to have the pieces to make another run at it next season.
Could Aaron Rodgers play for another team in 2026?
But what if Rodgers joins another team if he does play next season? It’s possible the Steelers could make some big changes in the offseason, and Rodgers could sign with a team that needs a QB but has a strong roster.
