The Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0) defeated the New York Jets (0-1), 34-32, in Sunday’s Week 1 regular season opener, thanks to a 60-yard game-winning field goal from Chris Boswell . This, of course, was a revenge game for quarterback Aaron Rodgers , who spent the previous two seasons with the Jets.
New York hired Aaron Glenn as head coach in January. One of his first moves was to move on from Rodgers after meeting with him. Rodgers was asked after the game if there was significance in beating Glenn.
“I was happy to beat everybody associated with the Jets,” Rodgers said, via SNY Jets .

Rodgers downplayed the significance of this game all week to both the media and his teammates. He sure played like he had something to prove, completing 22-of-30 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns — to four different receivers.
Aaron Rodgers impressive in Steelers debut
Rodgers was met with boos when he stepped on the field at MetLife Stadium for the first time as a Steeler. The Jets were hopeful when they acquired Rodgers in the 2023 offseason that he would be the one to lead them back to the postseason. It never happened, and that chapter of Rodgers’ career closed earlier this year.
