The Indianapolis Colts’ inactive players list for their Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals is out. On it are a few surprises, which includes former first round pick and backup quarterback Anthony Richardson being listed as inactive.
Richardson was reportedly injured during warm-ups for the game, which accounts for his late scratch. At one point, the Colts’ starting quarterback and looked like the future of the franchise. Then, injuries and some poor play seemed to cost him the starting job, which he had a chance to win back this previous offseason. He didn’t. Instead, Daniel Jones won out.
Since Jones took over, he’s been able to spark the Colts’ offense and seemingly salvage his own career. Now, he’s solidified himself as the starting quarterback for the season, while Richardson has become the team’s backup.
Anthony Richardson has appeared in two games this season for the Colts. That’s included completing one of two pass attempts against the Las Vegas Raiders last week. That was a pass for nine yards. For his career, Richardson has played in 17 games with 15 starts over three seasons now. In that time, he’s completed 50.6 percent of passes for 2,400 yards and 11 touchdowns to 13 interceptions. He also has 634 rushing yards and another 10 touchdowns on the ground.
