AP Poll Top 25: College Football Rankings see shake up after Week 4

The latest AP Poll Top 25 rankings saw a shakeup following Week 4 of college football, so let’s not waste anymore time! Well, we’ll waste a tiny bit with an introduction after a crazy weekend!

Did you guys see that 63-10 game? You know, the one where Indiana smoked a previously ranked No. 9 Illinois team? 

Yeah safe to say, the AP Poll got a bit of a facelift in multiple spots. So now, let’s start at the top of this week’s rankings.

Ohio State cruised through non-conference opponents to get to No. 1 in the AP Poll. Now, Big Ten play begins with Washington this coming weekend.

Keep in mind, the first win of the year over Texas could stand the test of time. The gritty 17-10 victory could get better and better as long as the Longhorns keep winning, especially like they did this weekend.

Miami grinded out a 26-7 win over Florida, giving the Gators another disappointing ending. But this Hurricanes team is for real, now at 4-0 and within the top five of the AP Poll.

The run game is what won this game for Miami. Not only that, Florida QB DJ Lagway had a hair over 60 passing yards, finding nothing against the Hurricane defense.

Penn State is rolling as well, but they had a softer schedule going into the bye week. The true test begins this coming weekend with Oregon coming to town.

Heck, a win over the Ducks could put the Nittany Lions at the top of the AP Poll. This is James Franklin’s best squad on paper, but now it’s time to take the exam.

LSU really turned it up a notch beating Southeastern Louisiana after a tough win over Florida the previous week. Simply put, the Tigers took care of business.

They’ll get an AP Poll ranked team next week, Ole Miss. LSU has to hit the road for a very intriguing game that could shake up the SEC race.

Georgia had a pretty emotional victory over Tennessee in overtime last week, so perhaps the early bye week came at the right time. Gunner Stockton, at least to this point, has seamlessly transitioned at QB, giving the Bulldogs some juice on offense.

What’s next? Oh just Alabama. And if the Crimson Tide have their swagger back, next week’s game could really shake up these AP Poll rankings.

Oregon whacked Oregon State 41-7 in their in-state rivalry clash. The Civil War went to the Ducks and now they can focus on Big Ten play.
