AP Poll Top 25: College Football Rankings see shake up after Week 6

The latest AP Poll Top 25 rankings are here following Week 6 of the college football season and prepare to debate! Based on the results from the weekend, teams are surely going to jump, fall and well, maybe stand pat!

Penn State was upset by UCLA, Alabama shut down Vanderbilt, Miami owns the state of Florida and much more! We’re about halfway through the season, so get ready for some hot takes about the end of the year!

So let’s dive into the latest AP Poll rankings following Week 6. We’ll start with the top of the list.

Ohio State dispatched Minnesota 42-3 to remain unbeaten on the season. Julian Sayin threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns en route to a dominating win.

Three different players scored rushing touchdowns as well. The top team in the AP Poll held the Gophers to just 162 total yards of offense.

Miami managed to hang on against Florida State, beating the Seminoles 28-22, despite FSU’s 19 fourth quarter points. The Hurricanes improved to 5-0 on the season.

Carson Beck made a massive Heisman statement, throwing for 241 yards and four touchdowns. This looks like a true national title contending team.

Oregon stayed high up the AP Poll despite the bye week. But there’s no doubt Dan Lanning and company have one of the best teams in the country.

The Ducks will host Indiana this coming weekend in must-see Big Ten action. The winner will have an inside path to the Big Ten title game and a lot of CFP juice.

Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin are rolling right now at 5-0. So much so, they defeated the bye week! All jokes aside, the Rebels look good so far.

Trinidad Chambliss has filled in nicely as QB for the injured Austin Simmons. It appears it’ll be Chambliss the rest of the way, but that hasn’t been confirmed just yet.

Texas A&M rolled to another victory, 31-9 over Mississippi State, despite a slow start. Mike Elko and crew are not 5-0 on the season. 

It’ll be interesting to see what the Aggies do next week as they host Florida. The Gators just beat Texas at home, knocking them from the top 10 of the AP Poll.

Oklahoma dominated Kent State to stay high up the AP Poll. Michael Hawkins played well in relief of the injured John Mateer, who’s status for Red River is still not looking good!

Hawkins threw for 162 yards, three touchdowns and ran for 33 yards and a score. The Sooners have a massive challenge though. Coming into the weekend, Oklahoma stared down six ranked opponents over the course of their final seven games.
