On the heels of losses to Harvard and SMU, Arkansas (8-3) bounced back with a 77-46 win over Jackson State on Sunday. On a cold, cloudy day in Fayetteville, both teams were cold to start the game. The first quarter yielded a score of 16-2 in favor of Arkansas, with Jackson State going 1-19 from the field in the first 10 minutes of play. But the Razorbacks eventually found their shot and closed the doors to Bud Walton Arena to warm things up and get the offense going, even with their leading scorer, Taleyah Jones, not playing. In Jones’ absence, freshman guard Harmonie Ware put up a career-high 24 points on 9-of-9 shooting, including 4-of-4 from beyond the arc. Freshman Bonnie Deas put together her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
