Baker Mayfield is coming off a career-best season in the NFL. That has now earned him a new-looking finish to his contract in Tampa Bay.
With training camp having started in the last week for the Buccaneers, Mayfield, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, has reportedly had his contract reworked with the franchise to go from zero guaranteed dollars to $30 million for 2026. It doesn’t extend the deal any longer, though, with the season after this one still currently being set as his final year to be in Tampa Bay.
“Buccaneers have reworked QB Baker Mayfield’s contract to give him $30M guaranteed in 2026 — a year that previously had no guarantees, per sources,” Schefter tweeted on Monday afternoon. “The length of the contract remains the same, but Mayfield now has financial security heading into next season, which is the final year of his deal.”
Mayfield, after three stops over his first five seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, and Los Angeles Rams, has spent the past two years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s been their starting quarterback in each campaign in leading good offenses and teams that each made the playoffs.
