The Miami Dolphins went through a very scary incident early in training camp. Earlier in the week, offensive lineman Bayron Matos suffered a seemingly severe injury, forcing him to be transported to the hospital. Now, the team has released a statement updating his status.
“Bayron Matos sustained an injury at the end of Wednesday’s practice and was transported to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he remained overnight for evaluation and testing. He has movement in all extremities and is in stable condition,” the statement reads. “He will remain in the care of doctors for continued observation.”
The injury occurred later during practice on Wednesday. Miami hasn’t shared the exact nature of the injury or how it occurred. However, it was a scary enough moment that it did end practice early for the Dolphins.
Matos would be transported to the hospital by helicopter. Once he got to that local hospital, the team had already been reporting that he was in stable condition.
