Bengals trading for Browns QB Joe Flacco after third loss without Joe Burrow

Copied!

The Cincinnati Bengals are trading for Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Tuesday.

The Browns are receiving a 2026 fifth-round draft pick in the trade, while the Bengals are getting a 2026 sixth-rounder in addition to Flacco, per Rapoport and Pelissero.

The trade comes after the Bengals on Sunday lost their third consecutive game with Jake Browning starting in place of an injured Joe Burrow. Cincinnati release Mike White from its practice squad earlier Tuesday.

Flacco became expendable in Cleveland after the Browns benched the veteran for rookie Dillon Gabriel ahead of their Week 5 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Flacco went 1-3 as a starter in four games for Cleveland, throwing two touchdowns to six interceptions.

The 2-3 Bengals play at the Green Bay Packers in Week 6.
