Bills' Josh Allen (foot) 'good to go' vs. Jets, slated to continue start streak in 'The Ralph' farewell

Josh Allen‘s foot injury is not expected to end his eye-popping consecutive starts streak.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback was limited in Friday’s practice and is “good to go” Sunday against the New York Jets, coach Sean McDermott told reporters. Allen does not have a game designation on Buffalo’s injury report.

Allen aggravated his foot injury during the Bills’ Week 17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and didn’t practice on Wednesday and Thursday, casting doubt over whether he’d play in Buffalo’s regular-season finale.

However, Allen has started 121 straight games — 134 in a row, if you include playoffs. There’s also the added factor of saying goodbye to “The Ralph,” otherwise known as Highmark Stadium, as Sunday will mark the Bills’ final home game there, barring some postseason upsets. Buffalo (11-5) is currently seeded seventh in the AFC playoff bracket and can jump up to No. 6 or No. 5 depending on how Week 18 goes.

Allen was injured and missed four games during his 2018 rookie campaign and has started every game since Week 12, 2018. Excluding Philip Rivers, who has technically started 255 consecutive games, including playoffs and not including a four-plus-year-retirement, it’s the longest streak of consecutive starts for an active QB in the NFL.

His regular-season starting run trails only Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Jake Matthews (199) and Chicago Bears defensive back Kevin Byard (162).

Chances are Allen’s start would essentially be a cameo before handing over signal-calling duties to understudy Mitchell Trubisky. Allen played just one snap in last season’s regular-season finale.

Allen and the Bills (11-5) kick off against the Jets at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
