AFC Offensive Player of the Week

Down 15 points with less than 12 minutes to play against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night, Allen rallied his Bills for an improbable 41-40 victory to kick off the season. Allen quarterbacked the Bills to three straight scoring drives to garner the win, first hitting receiver ๏ปฟ ๏ปฟ ๏ปฟ Keon Coleman ๏ปฟ ๏ปฟ ๏ปฟ for a 10-yard touchdown off a tipped pass, then rushing it up the middle for a 1-yard score and finally finding Coleman again for a 25-yard gain to set up kicker ๏ปฟ ๏ปฟ ๏ปฟ Matt Prater ๏ปฟ ๏ปฟ ๏ปฟ ‘s 32-yard game-winning field goal. When the instant classic had ended, Allen had completed 33 of 46 passes for 394 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions and a 112.0 pass rating to go with 30 yards on the ground and another two scores.

NFC Offensive Player of the Week

One game into his NFL career and McCarthy is already an award winner. With the Vikings trailing by 11 points in the fourth quarter, McCarthy led his squad on three successive touchdown drives en route to a 27-24 win. McCarthy, making his NFL debut after missing all of his rookie campaign with a knee injury, threw his first two career touchdowns and rushed for his first score in the fourth quarter to lead the rally. His final — and first — stat line read: 13 of 20 for 143 yards and two touchdowns; two carries for 25 yards and a TD.
