Billy Bob Thornton praises Jerry Jones' acting skills after appearance on 'Landman'

by: Barkley Truax 18 hours ago BarkleyTruax

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made a cameo appearance on the popular TV series “Landman,” starring Billy Bob Thornton earlier this year. The actor who plays Tommy Norris joined the Week 8 edition of the Manningcast with Peyton and Eli Manning where he discussed Jones’ acting job.

Jones is no stranger to speaking in front of a camera. Though, never like this. Still, Thornton was high on Jones’ ability on the silver screen because Jones was being his authentic self.

“I was not surprised, because he was actually telling his own story,” Thornton told the Manning brothers. “I mean, if it had been scripted in a way where he had to say every line, it might have been different. But he was actually telling the story of his life.

“So if you just ask somebody, sit down and tell it — and he got teared up. I mean, he was very, very good. If you can get a non actor to be themselves, they’re better than actors.”

Jones made one appearance during the show, which was released during the ninth episode of the show’s first season. Released on Jan. 5, 2025 on Paramount+, Jones visits Monty Miller — played by Jon Hamm — while he was in the hospital recovering from a heart attack.
