Blackhawks’ Connor Bedard reaches career milestone despite loss 

The Chicago Blackhawks have nothing to celebrate after suffering a 9-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night.  However, Chicago’s young star Connor Bedard did provide something to appreciate as the only bright spot from an otherwise miserable night.    Amid his team getting blown out, Bedard, 20, often viewed as one of the faces of the next era of great players in the NHL, reached a significant career milestone. Bedard picked up two assists in the game, reaching and surpassing 100 helpers in his career. It only took the first overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, early into his third season and exactly 171 games to record triple digits in assists. Ironically enough, Bedard’s pair of assists in the loss to the Sabres snapped a four-game slump without one.
