In a welterweight clash at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, Blair Cobbs handed Adrien Broner a unanimous decision loss, marking a significant setback in Broner’s attempted comeback. From the opening bell, Broner appeared hesitant and disengaged, struggling to match Cobbs’ intensity. Cobbs capitalized on Broner’s lackluster performance, flooring him with a vicious left hand in the second round, resulting in Broner losing a tooth.

Despite surviving the round, Broner never regained his form, looking slow and out of sync. Cobbs maintained a higher work rate throughout the fight, overshadowing Broner’s sporadic moments of aggression in the later rounds. This bout, Broner’s first in nearly a year following a victory over Bill Hutchinson, underscores the decline of the former four-division champion who has been plagued by legal issues and inconsistent performances since his 2019 loss to Manny Pacquiao. Cobbs’ decisive victory may well signal the end of Broner’s tumultuous boxing career.
