Star shortstop Bo Bichette was expected to draw plenty of interest in free agency. Fast forward to today, and the market has been rather slow. There have been rumors about the Red Sox, Dodgers, Giants, Mariners and Rangers, but nothing concrete. That’s why it now seems like Bichette is willing to change positions if that’s going to help his case. According to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, one source with knowledge of the negotiations revealed that Bichette is eager to move to second base. “It seems like the message has gotten through to him that teams don’t view him as a shortstop in the long-term – or maybe even in 2026,” one source told Feinsand. “His willingness to change positions can only help him in the market.” While a solid hitter, Bichette’s defensive shortcomings at shortstop have always been an issue.
