Booger McFarland already has a replacement in mind after the recent resignations in the NFL Players Association. Chief strategy officer JC Tretter announced his resignation Sunday, just three days after NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell resigned.
McFarland took to X on Sunday to commend Tretter for stepping down amid the heat surrounding him and others within the NFLPA. Not only that, but he also offered up an interesting suggestment to fill the void.
“Good move by him,” McFarland wrote of Tretter’s resignation. “Too much smoke around him. Our Union needs someone in the interim with leadership experience. ( Domonique) Foxworth or Don Davis both fit the bill.”

Foxworth currently works for ESPN, where he hosts The Domonique Foxworth Show . He is a former NFL cornerback who spent seven seasons in the league and is a former NFLPA representatitive.
Davis is currently holds the title of chief player officer for the NFLPA. He was considered one of the frontrunners to replace Howell as executive director alongside Tretter before the latter resigned.
Davis is a former NFL linebacker who played 12 seasons in the league. He won a pair of Super Bowls as a member of the New England Patriots from 2003-06.
