Boxing’s Big Night: Tszyu-Thurman and Romero-Cruz Face Off on PBC

Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) has confirmed an exciting lineup for their upcoming Amazon Prime Video Pay-Per-View card. The highlight of the event, scheduled for March 30th, is a catchweight bout at 155 lbs featuring the undefeated junior middleweight Tim Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs) against former champion Keith Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs). This non-title main event presents a significant challenge for Thurman, who steps into the ring after a lengthy 25-month hiatus and without any professional experience in the 154-lb division.

The fight initially aimed to be for Tszyu’s WBO junior middleweight title, but the World Boxing Organization did not sanction it, likely due to Thurman’s lack of ranking in the junior middleweight class. Tszyu, a rising star in the sport, seeks to maintain his unbeaten record against Thurman, a seasoned fighter making a much-anticipated return to the ring.

In the co-main event, Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero (15-1, 13 KOs) takes on Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz (25-2-1, 17 KOs) in what promises to be a compelling matchup. Romero, coming off a 10-month break, defends his position against Cruz, a formidable contender currently ranked #1 by the WBA in the lightweight division. The decision to hold this fight at 140 lbs has raised some eyebrows, given Romero’s recent inactivity and the choice of an opponent from a lower weight class.

Nevertheless, this bout offers Cruz, known for his aggressive style and tenacity, a chance to showcase his skills on a larger stage. Despite not having a world title on the line, the Romero vs. Cruz fight is expected to be a fierce contest, adding depth and excitement to the PBC event.
