Brandon Ingram is inching closer to a return for the New Orleans Pelicans, with NBA Insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson reporting that the All-Star forward could be back in action within 2-3 weeks. Ingram has been traveling with the team and intensifying his rehab efforts, recently spotted taking pregame shots in his home state of North Carolina ahead of New Orleans’ matchup against the Charlotte Hornets.
Though sidelined since December 7 due to a left ankle sprain, Ingram remains a focal point for the Pelicans’ plans, with sources indicating the team is optimistic about his recovery and continued contributions. His presence on the court would provide a timely boost as the Pelicans navigate a competitive Western Conference playoff push.
Ingram’s return would also serve as a critical showcase of his abilities ahead of the trade deadline. While the 25-year-old’s name has rarely surfaced in league trade discussions, his absence has left potential suitors and the Pelicans alike eager for an updated evaluation. Notably, Ingram donned green PE Jordans—a nod to his Kinston High School roots—during his latest workout, signaling a return to form and readiness to compete.
Despite offseason contract extension negotiations stalling over offers in the $40 million annual range, reports suggest the Pelicans remain open to re-signing Ingram this summer. With his scoring prowess and versatility, Ingram’s comeback could prove pivotal in both solidifying New Orleans’ postseason aspirations and his long-term role with the franchise.
