Braves stick to status quo in naming next manager

After a disappointing 2025 season, the Atlanta Braves were due for a shake-up. But the team’s decision-makers have other ideas. On Monday, USA Today MLB columnist Bob Nightingale reported that Walt Weiss, the Braves bench coach since 2018, has been promoted to manager after the team announced former manager Brian Snitker agreed to move into an advisory role on Oct. 1. The decision to move Weiss to manager is uninspiring and suggests the Braves are satisfied with the status quo.
