According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Philadelphia Eagles have traded for former All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander . A seventh-round pick will also be heading their way, while the Baltimore Ravens received a sixth-rounder. General manager Howie Roseman makes a big move during the team’s bye week.
“A rare in-season Saturday trade: the Ravens are sending former Pro-Bowl CB Jaire Alexander and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick, per sources,” Schefter said via X.
Schefter went on to point out that trades on a Saturday are not too frequent. However, a couple of circumstances led to the Eagles and Ravens agreeing to one. First, as mentioned, Philadelphia does not have a game this Sunday due to a bye. Second, Baltimore already played for the week, taking down the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football.
Both teams already moving on to Week 10 allowed them to pull the trigger. Now, Alexander has a chance to get settled into his new home before taking the field in an Eagles uniform on Monday Night Football. And he will be quite familiar with the opponent — the Green Bay Packers. As usual, the NFL has a funny way of setting up interesting storylines.
Alexander only played in two games this season for the Ravens. He recorded five tackles, hoping to improve the stat line in Philadelphia.
