Jerry Jones went old school with his song selection at the Dallas Cowboys training camp. Video emerged from the practice field this week where “Slow Hand” by The Pointer Sisters, a popular group in the 1970s and 80s.
It was revealed that Jones, the team owner, was the one who had picked the song. It wasn’t exactly the type of music that hyped the team up, and coach Brian Schottenheimer even admitted he would have gone with a different Pointer Sisters track with a little more energy.
“If you noticed where I put it, it was very well thought out, very calculated. It was during a special teams walk-through,” Schottenheimer said. “I did get some looks from the guys. It wasn’t my request. I like faster-paced Pointer Sisters. Like ‘I’m so excited’ (singing). But it was solid.”

It’s hardly surprising that Jones would pick an older song. After all, he is 82. But it’s also not surprising that some of his players, who are mostly in their 20s and 30s, wouldn’t exactly vibe with it either.
Regardless, the team will hope to continue building in training camp no matter what the song selection is. Everyone has to get their turn to control the speaker, and the players probably heard plenty of their songs as well.
