Buffalo Bills-Miami Dolphins expected to be in lightning delay at halftime

Halftime of the Buffalo Bills-Miami Dolphins game is likely to be extended, per Andy Slater. Expect a weather delay due to lightning strikes within a few miles of the stadium.

However, the game ended up resuming on time. Slater eventually pointed out the lightning strike was 2.5 miles from Hard Rock Stadium, occurring at 2:31 p.m. ET.

“NFL policy reportedly says a game should be clear of lightning for 30 minutes before it resumes,” Slater wrote. “Bills-Dolphins started the second half at 2:40 p.m.”

The Bills (6-2) trailed the Dolphins (2-7) 16-0 at halftime down in South Beach. It was certainly a surprising development in the early slate Sunday.
