Cam Newton and Ashley Nicole Moss talk 'getting in our groove' on '106 & Sports'

Cam Newton and Ashley Nicole Moss are bringing a fresh angle to the sports talk world with the BET show 106 & Sports. After premiering on Oct. 15, 106 & Sports brings the same type of energy as the legendary BET series 106 & Park.

On3 spoke to Newton and Moss this week about 106 & Sports , which is airing 25 years after 106 & Park premiered. For Moss, who covers basketball for CBS Sports, the legacy show is one of the reasons she wanted to be part of 106 & Sports.

“Obviously, I grew up watching 106 & Park,” Ashley Nicole Moss told On3. “It very much was engraved in just the New Yorker, New York kid experience, being filmed where it was on park. But also, I just think that at this stage in my career, I’m looking for ways to not only challenge me but also challenge the way that sports stories are told and can be told. And I found this opportunity coming at the perfect time in my career, where I was really looking for those opportunities and being able to do it with Cam, who is just unapologetically himself.”
