Elijah Haven, the nation’s top high school quarterback, is quickly becoming the crown jewel of the 2025 recruiting class. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound phenom from Baton Rouge’s Dunham School has electrified college football scouts with his uncanny combination of arm strength, athleticism, and football IQ.
After a jaw-dropping sophomore season where he racked up over 4,000 yards of offense and 58 touchdowns, Haven’s stock has skyrocketed, solidifying his status as the No. 1 overall recruit in America. LSU, located just down the road from his high school, has emerged as the frontrunner in the race for Haven’s commitment, with offensive coordinator Joe Sloan playing a pivotal role in fostering a strong connection with the rising star.
Despite a bevy of offers from top-tier programs like Georgia, Alabama, and Michigan, the hometown Tigers appear to have an edge. Haven’s frequent visits to LSU last season, combined with his close relationship with the coaching staff, have fueled speculation that he will don the purple and gold.
Rivals recruiting analyst Adam Gorney has called LSU the “team to beat,” citing Haven’s strong ties to Baton Rouge and LSU’s determination not to lose another five-star prospect from their backyard. As Haven prepares for his junior campaign, the question remains: Can LSU seal the deal and secure the commitment of this generational talent?
