CeeDee Lamb injury update: Brian Schottenheimer provides encouraging outlook for Cowboys WR

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said Wednesday that wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (concussion) is “progressing nicely,” according to Jon Machota of The Athletic. Lamb has yet to clear concussion protocol and has more to do, but Schottenheimer added, “I feel good about that.”

“He’s doing good,” Schottenheimer said. “Talked to him over the weekend. He’s progressing nicely, and hopefully things work out like we expect.”

Lamb suffered a concussion in last Thursday’s 44-30 Week 14 road defeat to the Detroit Lions. Down 18 in the second half, quarterback Dak Prescott threw up a jump ball for Lamb in one-on-one coverage, eventually falling incomplete. Lamb himself took a pretty big fall and did not have the chance to brace himself. He stayed down on the Ford Field turf for quite some time after hitting his head off the playing surface.

Lamb hauled in a team leading six passes for 121 yards before leaving the game. The 26-year-old has appeared in 10 games this season, tallying 57 receptions for 865 yards and three touchdowns.

The Cowboys host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night. It remains to be seen if they will have Lamb available to them.
