Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb suffered an apparent injury in the fourth quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles. He headed to the medical tent in the final minutes, but later returned to the sidelines.
Lamb went to the sidelines after the Cowboys failed to convert a fourth down with just under two minutes left to play in the game. He went to the tent shortly after his fourth drop of the game and second on what turned out to be Dallas’ final possession when a fourth-down pass slipped through his hands.
Lamb was back on the sidelines as the Eagles eventually sealed the 24-20 victory in Thursday’s NFL season opener. No reason was given for his departure at the time of publication.
CeeDee Lamb finished the night as the Cowboys’ leading receiver, totaling seven receptions out of 13 targets for 110 yards. But the drops loomed large as Dallas came up short in its comeback attempt against the defending champions, meaning the franchise starts the year 0-1.
Thursday’s game got off to a fast start as the Eagles took a 24-20 lead in the third quarter. But lightning entered the Philadelphia area and forced an hour-long weather delay, and both offenses came to a screeching halt. Neither team scored after the delay.
