CeeDee Lamb injury update: Jerry Jones reveals team doctors' outlook on Cowboys WR

Following a loss to the Chicago Bears, the Dallas Cowboys might have some good news. It comes in the form of an injury update for star receiver CeeDee Lamb .

After the game, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said team doctors told him Lamb’s ankle injury was “not as serious as it could have been,” according to reporter Jon Machota of The Athletic. Then Jones personally commented on the injury.

“Let’s just keep our fingers crossed,” Jones said. Worth noting? Lamb seemed to be moving relatively well on the sidelines in the second half.

Lamb also commented on the injury in the locker room after the game, noting he “absolutely” feels like he can play next week. Nick Harris of the Star Telegram reported the news.

“This was one of those protect me from myself type of deals,” Lamb said. In other words, the Cowboys just didn’t want to risk further injury.

CeeDee Lamb was forced to leave Sunday after rolling his left ankle against the Bears. But at least one medical expert doesn’t believe the injury to be long term.

David J. Chao , a former team doctor with the Chargers, broke down the type of injury Lamb suffered. He added that he considers it a “milder” ankle sprain and doesn’t anticipate the receiver being kept out long.
