Celtics star Derrick White makes unique NBA history in win over Jazz

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White had one of the best games of his career in Tuesday night’s win over the Utah Jazz, and he made NBA history in the process. White had 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists in Boston’s 129-119 road win over the Jazz. He also had a career-high seven blocked shots — that’s right, seven. White’s previous high for blocked shots in a game this season was four, which he accomplished on Dec. 19. His seven blocks on Tuesday were the most ever by a Celtics guard in a single game. White also tied an NBA record. There are now five guards in NBA history who have blocked seven shots in a game. White joins a list that already included Tracy McGrady, Dennis Johnson, Doug Christie and George Gervin.
