REWATCH : Chiefs-Chargers on NFL+ Premium
Following seven straight losses to the reigning AFC West Champions, the Los Angeles Chargers began their 2025 campaign with a streak-busting triumph.
Quarterback Justin Herbert and the Chargers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 27-21, in their season opener Friday night in Brazil.
Herbert sealed the victory with a 19-yard scramble.
The win was the first for the Bolts against the Chiefs, who’ve won nine straight division titles, since Sept. 26, 2021.
Herbert, who threw three touchdowns, won for the second time against KC, while quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs followed their Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with another setback to start 2025.
