Xavier Worthy suffered a dislocated right shoulder in the Kansas City Chiefs’ season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday on NFL GameDay Morning .
Worthy is still undergoing tests, Rapoport added, and it’s unclear how much time he will miss. The receiver is seeking a second opinion on the injury.
The most likely scenario is for Worthy to wear a brace on his shoulder and return this season, Rapoport reported. However, surgery is still an option, pending more tests and consultation.

Worthy played just three offensive snaps before colliding with teammate Travis Kelce on a crossing route and leaving Friday’s proceedings with a shoulder injury.
Kansas City leaned heavier on JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton in Worthy’s absence, the two combining for seven catches and 96 yards on nine targets. Marquise Brown caught 10 passes for 99 receiving yards, as well, his most as a Chief.
Worthy, Kansas City’s 2024 first-round pick, paced all Chiefs receivers last year with 59 catches, 638 yards and six touchdowns. The speedy playmaker added 104 yards and three scores on the ground. Worthy was a force in the postseason, tallying 19 catches for 287 receiving yards and three TDs, including two in garbage time of Super Bowl LIX.
