Christian Watson injury update: Packers change WR's practice status ahead of Bears game

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson has taken a big step forward in playing on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. In the team’s Wednesday practice/injury report, Watson, who has a chest/shoulder injury, was listed as a limited participant. That is good news, considering he did not participate in practice on Tuesday.

Christian Watson suffered the injuries during the team’s 34-26 loss to the Denver Broncos this past Sunday. He was sent to the ER, and Watson said he was hospitalized because they wanted to see if he had any dislocated ribs, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Christian Watson was a limited participant in practice today and based on how he was talking afterwards, it sounds like he’s playing Saturday against the Bears.

On Wednesday, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur spoke to reporters, and he said Watson is doing everything he can to play in Saturday’s game. “He’s fighting to play, for sure. Ultimately, it’s going through the process and seeing where he’s at. He’s got to prove it,” LaFleur said.

Watson’s 2025 season began in late October when he was taken off the PUP list. In eight games, the former North Dakota State star has caught 28 passes for 481 yards and five touchdowns. Watson missed the first half of the season because he suffered a torn ACL in the final game of the 2024 regular season against the Bears.
