Christian Watson injury update: Packers WR stays down in pain after brutal fall on Pat Surtain interception

by: Brian Jones 2 hours ago brianjones_93

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson suffered an injury while battling Denver Broncos Pat Surtain on Sunday. The incident happened early in the third quarter when Watson was attempting to catch a deep pass from quarterback Jordan Love. Surtain was covering Watson, and both players went for the ball. Surtain caught the pass for the interception, and Watson landed hard on his left shoulder.

Watson was down on the ground for a few minutes before he headed to the locker room. The Packers then announced that Watson suffered a chest injury, and he’s questionable to return.

CBS Sports reporter Tracy Wolfson gave an update on Christian Watson after he suffered the injury. “We saw him go into the locker room. Actually went in directly for X-rays,” she said on the broadcast. “It is a chest injury. I had a chance to speak with him this week and he was just so happy to be back from that ACL injury, playing at such a high level. Such an integral part of this offense. Here’s hoping he can get back sooner rather than later.”

Shortly after the Packers said Watson was questionable to return, the team then announced he has been ruled out. Watson finished his day with three catches for 29 yards.
