Coaches Poll Top 25: College Football Rankings released after wild Week 4

The latest Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings have been released following a wild Week 4 of college football. There were some eye opening results!

Expect some shakeups in the rankings though because we have a better idea of the college football landscape following the first third of the season. But as always, these will change drastically in a few weeks.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the latest Coaches Poll following Week 4. We begin at the top!

Ohio State had a week off so the Coaches Poll rankings didn’t really punish them. Regardless of what you think about this year’s Buckeyes, this is certainly one  of the best teams in the country, if not the best.

They’ll have the Big Ten opener coming up this weekend with Washington. But Ohio State, led by an explosive offense and borderline elite defense, will be heavy favorites.

Penn State had an off week as well, but here comes Oregon. This is the first true test for the Nittany Lions in 2025.

If Penn State beats Oregon at home this coming weekend, perhaps it’s time to put James Franklin’s crew at No. 1 in the Coaches Poll. Plus, that might make them national title favorites going into October at least.

Georgia spent the weekend not playing football so the Coaches Poll didn’t have much to go on this week, but they moved up anyway!. The Bulldogs host Alabama this coming weekend though, so that’ll be must-see TV.

Alabama might have more pressure, but Georgia needs this one too. The good news is, Gunner Stockton looks like a legit QB through the first few weeks.

LSU dominated Southeastern Louisiana, as expected, 56-10. The Tigers will remain high up the Coaches Poll going into next weekend.

Garrett Nussmeier tossed three touchdowns and threw for 273 yards in an impressive performance before being pulled. Next up is a road date with Ole Miss.

Oregon blasted Oregon State in the Civil War game on Saturday. All the Ducks do is win and win convincingly. This time, they won 41-7. 

How high will they climb in the Coaches Poll if they beat Penn State next weekend on the road? Is this the true best team in the country if that scenario plays out? Time will tell.

Miami thought the wheels were going to fall off late in the third quarter. The Hurricanes were stuck in the mud, but got the car moving and ran over Florida in the fourth.

In the 26-7 win, the defense swarmed the Gators’ offense, limiting them to 141 total yards. With three total touchdowns on the ground, Miami won this with the ground game to a tune of 184 rushing yards. That’ll help the Coaches Poll ranking!
