The latest Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings were released following a wild Week 9 of college football. There were upsets, close calls and blowouts!
So as we usually say, it was a typical week of college football. One thing’s for sure, the rankings were shaken up so have fun debating these.
So without further ado, let’s dive into the latest Coaches Poll rankings. We’ll start at the top.
Ohio State had the week off but stayed atop the Coaches Poll this week. The defending national champions have arguably been the best team in the country all year.
Could they be better than last season? It’s possible and they seemed locked in for the College Football Playoff in another month-plus.
Indiana blew out UCLA to remain undefeated on the season, improving to 8-0. They stayed high atop the Coaches Poll this week too.
Fernando Mendoza threw for 168 yards, three touchdowns, ran for another and tossed a pick before his brother Alberton subbed in when the game was in hand. Roman Hemby scored two touchdowns on the ground and ran for 81 yards.
While Texas A&M had a couple of turnovers, the Aggies dominated LSU 49-25 on the road. Funny enough, the Tigers led 18-14 at halftime!
Marcel Reed had four total touchdowns in the game as Mike Elko and company improved to 8-0 on the year. Stellar stuff for the SEC leaders and the conference’s top team in the Coaches Poll.
Alabama edged South Carolina on the road to stay high up in the Coaches Poll this week. Kalen DeBoer and crew have won seven in a row now.
This is one of the hottest teams in the country and it seems like they have it totally figured out. There are still four games remaining, but the Crimson Tide are one of the best in the land.
Georgia had a week off going into Week 8. But the Coaches Poll tells us this is still one of the top teams in the country.
Kirby Smart and crew will take on Florida next weekend in the post-Billy Napier era. It could get ugly fast!
Oregon blew out Rutgers but struggled a bit with Wisconsin this weekend. The Ducks won 21-7 in a controlled, but certainly slower effort at home.
Dante Moore exited in the third quarter, but everything is fine according to Dan Lanning. The team’s lone loss is to Indiana, so they sit high in the Coaches Poll and still look like a playoff team.
