Cowboys WR Jonathan Mingo reveals excitement level to play with Dak Prescott

As the Dallas Cowboys passing attack continues to flourish, another weapon is set to join the active roster. Wide receiver Jonathan Mingo could make his NFL debut on Sunday against the Denver Broncos. And weirdly enough, when he takes the field, it will be the first time Mingo has played with quarterback Dak Prescott .

โ€œI feel great,โ€ Mingo said Monday via The Athletic โ€˜s Jon Machota. โ€œIโ€™m excited. Been waiting. First time I get a chance to play with Dak. I got traded last year, he was hurt. (Then) I missed 7 games this year, so Iโ€™m finally happy to go out there and play with him. We had a good connection in camp.โ€

Mingo arrived in Dallas early November last season. But Prescott already went down for the year due to an injury, meaning Cooper Rush and Trey Lance were the ones throwing passes to the former Carolina Panther. And fast forwarding to the present, Mingo was the one hurt while Prescott regained his form in a big way.

In eight games played with the Cowboys, Mingo has just five receptions to his name on 16 targets. Those went for 46 yards. Mingo continues to search for his first touchdown in a Dallas uniform. And with the pace at which Prescott throws touchdowns, it might come sooner rather than later. Maybe another connection quickly built in game scenarios, beginning Sunday vs. Denver.
