“The contract states that either fighter is supposed to notify in writing if they can’t make weight for the 147-lb welterweight match,” Crawford stated. “Since I didn’t hear anything from Spence, the rematch will be at 147. We’re supposed to fight in December, and I’m back in training.”
This clarification from Crawford has cemented the weight class for the rematch, ensuring that the bout will take place in the welterweight division, which both fighters are renowned for dominating. The 147-pound limit adds an intriguing element to the matchup, as both Crawford and Spence have demonstrated their ability to excel in this weight class.
The first bout between Crawford and Spence was a memorable clash of skill and determination, and the rematch promises to be even more electrifying. With Crawford’s undefeated record and Spence’s impressive resume, the boxing world is eagerly awaiting the showdown.
As anticipation builds for the December rematch, Terence Crawford left no room for doubt about his standing in the sport. “There’s no comparison. When you compare Errol Spence to Terence Crawford, there is no comparison. My career, I’m already going to the Hall of Fame. If we retire right now, he’s not going to the Hall of Fame,” said Crawford.
With both fighters motivated to prove their supremacy in the welterweight division, the Crawford vs. Spence Jr. rematch promises to deliver a memorable night of boxing action in December.
