Dallas County judge sentences Chiefs WR Rashee Rice for role in 6-car Texas crash

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has been sentenced to five years of probation and 30 days of jail time for his role in a multi-car crash in Dallas during the 2024 offseason. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Rice will likely serve a multi-game suspension.

A Dallas county judge sentenced Rashee Rice, who can serve his jail sentence during the five-year probation. The crash happened on March 30, 2024, when Rice, who was driving a Lamborghini, was racing Theodore Knox, who was driving a Corvette. Rice reportedly told police he lost control of his vehicle, which caused a crash involving six cars.

According to Fox 4, Rice pleaded guilty on Thursday to felony racing on the highway and felony accident causing serious bodily injury. For his jail sentence, Rice is required to spend 30 days in the Dallas County jail. Attorney Royce West said Rice is making plans and will set a date to turn himself in.

Rashee Rice missed most of the 2024 season

Rice’s sentence came days before the Chiefs are set to begin training camp. Rice is looking to bounce back in 2025 after missing the majority of the 2024 season due to LCL and hamstring injuries. He played in four games last year and caught 24 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns.
