After less than four seasons, the New York Giants made the decision to move on from head coach Brian Daboll . Now, one of the premier jobs in the NFL is open and expected to draw a lot of interest. Itโ€™s also expected to be a job that hires an experienced head coach to lead the franchise moving forward.

Itโ€™s still extremely early, but ESPN analysts on Get Up already looked at a few potential hires theyโ€™d be excited about. That included Dan Orlovsky , who brought up a couple of options. The first was sitting head coach Kevin Stefanski . The other was more interesting, defending national champion and Ohio State head coach Ryan Day .

โ€œIโ€™ll give you two names,โ€ Orlovsky said. โ€œThese are names that I would like for the Giants. Realistic or not, I donโ€™t know that. One would be Kevin Stefanski if they move on in Cleveland. A second name. Iโ€™m not saying this to be โ€” I would love Ryan Day there.โ€

Day does have some NFL experience, too. In 2015 and 2016, he was a quarterbacks coach with the Philadelphia Eagles and then the San Francisco 49ers. However, heโ€™s been at Ohio State since leaving the NFL. That includes being the Buckeyesโ€™ head coach since 2019. In his time leading the program, heโ€™s 79-10 overall and won the national championship just one season ago.

โ€œI think Ryan Day would be a phenomenal head coachโ€ฆ I just think heโ€™s a great coach,โ€ Orlovsky concluded.
