Micah Parsons is not the only Dallas Cowboys defensive player looking for a contract before the 2025 season begins. Cornerback DaRon Bland has had โ€œsome talksโ€ with the team about receiving an extension done in the near future.

โ€œI do but Iโ€™m not here to talk about it really too much,โ€ Bland said via DallasCowboys.com when asked if he wants to get something done before the season. โ€œBut yea, hopefully.โ€

Bland is set to be a free agent at the end of the year. His emergence with the Cowboys has been huge over the last couple of years and the role is only expected to grow. The cornerback position is a major question mark right now for Dallas due to a good number of injuries.

Right now, Bland is one of the lone healthy veteran players on the roster. If the Cowboys are holding talks, getting him locked up for the future appears to be a priority. Exactly what the conversations are looking like, we do not know because Bland is still keeping a little bit behind the curtain.

Entering his fourth NFL season, Bland has played in 41 games with 30 starts. Talking about his career stats without highlighting the record-setting 2023 is almost impossible. Of Blandโ€™s nine interceptions, five of them turned into touchdowns. Thanksgiving Day against the Washington Commanders put him in the all-time solo lead, a great moment for him and the franchise.
