Colorado head coach Deion Sanders was the latest to call out some “misinformation” regarding Travis Hunter , relayed by Eli Manning Monday night. During The ManningCast , Eli, Peyton Manning and guest Glen Powell were talking about Hunter during the Jaguars-Chiefs game.
That’s where Manning told a story given to him by Jaguars head coach Liam Coen. The story goes like this: Hunter did not actually practice at wide receiver at Colorado, despite excelling at that position as well as defensive back.
Deion Sanders Jr. called it a lie on social media Monday. Then, Coach Prime addressed it when asked during his press conference on Tuesday.
“That was a lie,” Sanders said. “Travis Hunter played offense and defense. We started out with the ones on offense going the first four or five reps, then he went over and played defense the next four or five reps, and he did it the whole practice.
“You know we have Well Off Media reach the people … Come on, man, like, I don’t know why. Troy called me before the game, and he got that information and I gave him, because he had the same information, misinformation, that I gave him the truth. I don’t know why people lie. Why do you do that kind of stuff?”
Manning told the story when Powell asked during the game how he would coach Hunter. The full context of the story can be seen below.
