Deion Sanders doubles down on prediction that son Shedeur will start in 2025 for Cleveland Browns

Deion Sanders believes his son, Shedeur , will start for the Cleveland Browns during the 2025 season . He has since doubled-down on that statement.

“I’m not just being optimistic. I know what he he brings to the table,” Coach Prime said on Thursday. “And right now, he’s excited about the scout team. He’s taking the scout team and said, ‘This is game day for me.’ He gets three days a week to perform, and they’re going (against) the darn starters on defense.”

Sanders knows that his son still has his eye on the starting job, despite being the third QB on the Browns depth chart. However, he’s keeping his game sharp everyday at practice. It’s all about staying ready instead of having to get ready for his opportunity.

“And he’s not sitting down having a pity party,” the Colorado coach said. “He wasn’t raised like that. He was never raised to be disrespectful or unprepared. There’s no way that you can start all four years and do what you did and accomplish what you accomplished and not be prepared.”

Sanders was the second quarterback that the Browns drafted during April’s annual event. Dillon Gabriel went one round ahead of Sanders, who was picked up in the fifth round by the franchise. Gabriel remains one spot ahead of Sanders on the depth chart, so he’d have to wait his turn behind Gabriel if the team turns away from current starter Joe Flacco.

Flacco, 40, has struggled to begin the season. In three games, he’s thrown four interceptions compared to two touchdowns. However, the Browns won their first game of the season on Sunday, defeating the Green Bay Packers 13-10 at home. They’re currently 1-2.
