Deion Sanders explained why Shedeur Sanders ultimately turned down the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL Draft after reports surfaced. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported earlier this month the former Colorado QB turned down the Ravens and was eventually picked by the Cleveland Browns due to not wanting to backup Lamar Jackson .
The Ravens were not the only team to call Deion Sanders and camp either. The Philadelphia Eagles called as well, according to Coach Prime.
Sanders could end up starting for the Browns this year at some point, as some have speculated. But currently, Joe Flacco is the starter and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel is the No. 2 signal caller.
“Because this was all over the media … they made a big deal out of, Philly called us on draft day. Okay, they didn’t mention that. I just let a cat out of the bag,” Sanders said on New Heights. “Baltimore and the Browns (also called). They forget, I played for Baltimore, so me and Ozzie (Newsome) are cool. So he understood that whole conversation, and he wanted to talk to Shedeur as well as he wanted to talk to me, and I put Shedeur on the phone.
Deion Sanders predicted Shedeur would eventually get his shot this season. The Browns got their first win of the season, getting to 1-2, by beating the Green Bay Packers 13-10.
