With Cleveland trading away Joe Flacco on Tuesday, Shedeur Sanders is all the way up to being the second-string quarterback for the Browns. Deion Sanders has heard about it, but doesn’t care much, though, beyond it involving his son.
Sanders was asked for his reaction to the news of the trade during his press conference this morning. He said that he heard about it at practice, and that, as he’s focusing on his own football team, he doesn’t care or give a darn what the franchise did in the deal. Although, he does really like the Browns’ new backup quarterback.
“Yeah, I got that text during practice,” said Sanders.
“I don’t care. I don’t give a darn about the Browns, at all. I care about the Colorado Buffaloes. I do love me some Shedeur Sanders, though. Believe that. I care about him,” Sanders said. “The rest of that mess? I don’t, okay. I’m a coach trying to win just like they’re trying to win games. But, I could care less of who they traded.”
However, Sanders didn’t know that Cleveland traded Flacco within the division to Cincinnati. The Browns are acquiring a fifth-round pick in return for Flacco and a sixth-round selection today. With that, Coach Prime actually credited the Bengals for the win-now move as they’ve had issues at quarterback since what may be a season-ending injury for Joe Burrow in Week 2.
“He went to the Bengals? I didn’t know that,” said Sanders. “Oh my god. Bengals ain’t no joke, ain’t they? They trying to win.”
