In December, DeMarvion Overshown suffered a devastating ACL injury which ended his 2024 season. It sounds like his recovery is going well, though.
Overshown shared a major change to his status for 2025 via social media. The Dallas Cowboys linebacker said the doctor told him he’d be active at some point this season.
Overshown suffered the injury in December during a Monday Night Football matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. He also suffered injuries to his PCL and MCL on the play, and the update from his doctor lines up with what the former Texas star previously said about his recovery .

Last season, Overshown started 12 games out of the 13 in which he appeared. He totaled 90 tackles during that time, including 5.0 sacks and an interception, which he took back for a touchdown. It was a huge debut season with the Cowboys after he missed his rookie year with an injury.
In May, Overshown said his recovery was going well. He also expressed confidence he was getting ahead of schedule.
“It’s going real good, I think it really couldn’t be any better,” Overshown said, via Tommy Yarrish of DallasCowboys.com. “If it was better, I’d probably be out there playing right now. Where I’m at in my rehab, in my process, it’s where I’m supposed to be plus some.”
Despite the optimism, DeMarvion Overshown said he doesn’t want to come back too soon and risk further injury. His goal is to avoid worrying about his knee and simply focusing on playing his game.
