DeMarvion Overshown makes promise for his return to Cowboys defense

The Dallas Cowboys are close to getting back an important defensive piece. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown recently saw his 21-day practice window open, meaning he could return to the field soon. For now, it’s about getting on the practice field and ramping up.

Many might look to ease back into the flow of the game. Not Overshown. On Wednesday, he promised there would not be a significant drop-off in his game despite another knee injury. Overshown wants to play fast and make big-time plays for the Cowboys.

“Stronger, faster, can jump higher, more explosive,” Overshown said via Jon Machota of The Athletic . “You name it, I’m all of it. My game is not going to slow down. I know how to play one way and that’s full speed. That’s what you’re gonna see.”

Unfortunately, injuries have been a big part of Overshown’s career thus far. A torn ACL in the 2023 preseason meant all of his rookie season was spent on the sideline. When the Cowboys got him back last year, it was for just 13 games before another knee issue came about.

Overshown recorded 90 tackles in his limited play, being all over the field. He added five sacks, eight tackles for a loss, five quarterback hits, four passes defended, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. A shat sheet filler to say the least.
