The Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off their second straight World Series championship and are beginning the trek to a three-peat. In their mission to become the first team to three-peat since the New York Yankees (1998-2000), the Dodgers are bringing back World Series hero Miguel Rojas to help in those efforts. According to Daniel Alvarez-Montes of El Extrabase, it’s a one-year deal worth $5.5 million and will be the final season of Rojas’ career in baseball as an active player. He will continue with the Dodgers beyond next season as a member of their player-development department. In four seasons with the Dodgers, Rojas (soon to be 37) has batted .248 and had an OPS of .656 in 426 games. Although Rojas is not a big name, he is one of the Dodgers’ “glue” guys who brings everyone together in the clubhouse. After the Dodgers won their second straight World Series, manager Dave Roberts called Rojas a “Dodgers legend” while giving him a big bear hug.
