Dyson Daniels is filling in at point guard for the Atlanta Hawks with Trae Young out for at least a month. Tuesday, he helped the Hawks blow out the Orlando Magic, 127-112. Young injured his knee last week in a collision with his teammate. Since then, Nickeil Alexander-Walker has replaced Young in the starting lineup, but it’s Daniels who has been spearheading the Hawks offense. Daniels led the NBA in steals last season (3.0 per game) and won the Most Improved Player award. He spent the 2024-25 season playing shooting guard and small forward, but he has shown solid ball-handling skills in spurts during the first three years of his career. Tuesday, Daniels had six assists to go with his 18 points and two steals, shooting 8-of-9.
