Through all the tumult and drama, the 2025 Philadelphia Eagles have emerged with a history-making playoff berth.
The Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders, 29-18, on Saturday to clinch back-to-back NFC East titles, becoming the division’s first repeat winners in 21 years.
The feat snaps the NFL’s longest division streak without back-to-back champions.
The last team to accomplish the feat was the Eagles from 2001-04 with Andy Reid as head coach and Donovan McNabb at quarterback.
Now, it’s Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts who have weathered the storm of weekly scrutiny about a struggling offense despite the Eagles being reigning Super Bowl champions.

Following an 8-2 start this season, the Eagles lost three straight games before fittingly collecting back-to-back wins to clinch back-to-back division titles.
Philadelphia (10-5) is now assured of a home game to start the playoffs. The Eagles also now have advanced to the postseason for the fifth time in as many seasons under Sirianni, who’s produced five consecutive winning seasons, as well, to go with his third division title. Under Sirianni, the Eagles have made their way to the Super Bowl each season they’ve won the NFC East (2022, 2024), splitting the championship games against the Kansas City Chiefs.
