Eagles security officer 'Big Dom' DiSandro fined by NFL for preseason infraction

by: Nick Geddes 2 hours ago NickGeddesNews

The NFL has fined Dom DiSandro , Philadelphia Eagles senior advisor to the general manager/chief security officer/ gameday coaching operations, $75,000 for texting from the bench area during a preseason game against the New York Jets, per NFL reporter Derrick Gunn. Philadelphia filed an appeal which was denied by the league.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported that the Eagles’ appeal was that DiSandro only had one foot in the bench area. That one foot was enough for the league, who levied the fine.

DiSandro, in his 27th season with the Eagles’ organization, was previously fined $100,000 and suspended from the sideline during the 2023 season for a sideline incident involving then San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw . The following spring, the title of “gameday coaching operations” was added to DiSandro’s titles to keep him from being suspended if he got himself involved in another sideline altercation. He made headlines last season when he separated head coach Nick Sirianni and former Eagles tight end Zach Ertz  following a Washington Commanders’ win.

Eagles set for big test vs. Rams in Week 3

Where Sirianni is, DiSandro is not far behind. After games, DiSandro often accompanies Sirianni onto the field for post-game handshakes with opposing players and coaches. We’ll see if that’s the case after Philadelphia’s Week 3 Sunday home contest against the Los Angeles Rams.
